Lake Region Attends NORA Summit
On October 22, 2026, employees from Lake Region Electric Cooperative attended the Northeast Oklahoma Regional Alliance (NORA) Rural Opportunity Summit, joining community leaders, organizations and fellow cooperatives to discuss opportunities for growth, collaboration and innovation across northeast Oklahoma. NORA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to uniting leaders and communities to drive sustainable growth, foster innovation and expand opportunities throughout the region. The summit brought together individuals and organizations committed to building a stronger future for rural Oklahoma. Throughout the event, attendees had opportunities to participate in workshops focused on community leadership and collaboration, economic and workforce development, community engagement, planning and resilience, and the use of artificial intelligence in rural communities.
Lake Region employees also connected with cooperative friends from East Central Electric Cooperative, Ozarks Electric Cooperative and KAMO Power, our transmission cooperative. The summit's focus on collaboration reflects one of the seven cooperative principles: Cooperation Among Cooperatives. This principle encourages cooperatives to work together, share knowledge and resources, and strengthen their ability to serve members and communities. As a proud Silver Sponsor of the event, Lake Region was pleased to support NORA's mission of creating opportunities and encouraging regional partnerships. At Lake Region, we understand that strong communities are built through cooperation. Events like the NORA Rural Opportunity Summit provide valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, build relationships and work toward shared goals that benefit the communities we call home.
We appreciate NORA and the event organizers for bringing regional leaders together and look forward to continuing partnerships that help northeast Oklahoma grow and thrive.
