This holiday season, Lake Region Electric Cooperative and Lake Region Fiber were proud to launch the inaugural Lake Region Light Contest, inviting members to show off their Christmas spirit by lighting up their homes and businesses for all to enjoy. From bold, music-filled displays with inflatables to timeless scenes glowing with twinkling lights, our communities truly embraced the joy of the season.
The carolers performed beloved holiday classics, including Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and Deck the Halls, filling the morning air with warmth, nostalgia, and holiday spirit. Their enthusiasm and energy reminded us all of the magic of the season and the joy that comes from coming together as a community.

Every year, Green Country’s Electric Cooperatives join forces to show appreciation for the state and federal legislators who serve as champions for rural co-ops and the rural Oklahoma way of life. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our co-op partners and area legislators for making the 2025 Legislative Appreciation Dinner a tremendous success. Last but certainly not least, we want to thank Larry Morgan and his team for preparing the meal so we could all break bread together. A special thank you to East Central Electric Cooperative for hosting the event!
Supported by his cooperative family and electric cooperatives across the state, one of our own was recognized last week during a statewide ceremony for reaching a significant career milestone. David Killebrew, a Journeyman Lineman, was honored for successfully completing his training and earning his journeyman certification. This achievement represents years of dedication, hands-on learning, and commitment to serving cooperative members safely and reliably.
Lake Region Electric Cooperative was proud to participate in the Fort Gibson Christmas Parade on December 5 and the Hulbert Christmas Celebration on December 6, joining community members in festive traditions that highlight local pride and togetherness. Employees and Willie Wirehand helped spread holiday cheer through parades, volunteer efforts, and all-day community events in Hulbert. These celebrations reflected Lake Region’s commitment to the cooperative principle of Concern for the Community and its appreciation for the traditions that bring neighbors together during the holiday season.
Exciting news for Shady Grove School’s archery team! Thanks to a $3,000 Operation Round-Up grant from Lake Region Electric Cooperative, the team now has six brand-new NASP-approved 3D targets. These new targets give students the tools they need to train with confidence and take their skills to the next level.
Recently, Lake Region Electric Cooperative team members Mohamed Bassime, Safety Coordinator, and Jon Enkey, Manager of Operations, had the pleasure of visiting the Fort Gibson 4-H Club to share one of the most important lessons in our industry: staying safe around electricity. The students were eager to learn and asked thoughtful questions throughout the visit. They also got a firsthand look at a live safety demonstration, giving them practical insights into how to stay safe both at home and in their communities.
