Meet Trent! Trent has been a lineman with Lake Region for 7 years and is always willing to lend a hand and be a great ambassador for our co-op. Here are the questions we asked him so our members can get to know him better. Thank you for all you do to keep the power flowing behind the switch for our members.
Did you know your ceiling fan can help keep your home warmer in winter?
Lake Region Electric Cooperative is proud to recognize two members of its Board of Trustees for reaching significant milestones in continuing education through the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). At the December 2025 Directors Association Meeting hosted by the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives (OAEC), Trustee Dianna Mayfield earned her Board Leadership Certificate (BLC), and Secretary-Treasurer Randall Shankle received his Director Gold Credential, the highest level of director education offered by NRECA.
The 77th Annual Meeting will be held on April 25, 2026!
The PCA helps reflect changes in the cost of producing electricity from our wholesale power suppliers. These costs vary mainly because the fuels used to generate electricity—such as natural gas and coal—can rise or fall in price. LREC does not generate power; we purchase power, which comes from a variety of sources. Some is produced at hydroelectric dams, which depend on rainfall levels, but most comes from steam-generation plants that use natural gas and coal. Because fuel prices fluctuate, the cost to produce electricity changes as well.
We would like to congratulate and sincerely thank all of our employees who received a Years of Excellence pin at our annual Christmas party. These dedicated individuals have given between 5 and 40 years of their lives serving our members at Lake Region Electric and, in more recent years, our customers through Lake Region Technology and Communications. Their commitment, hard work, and loyalty have helped shape who we are today.
This holiday season, Lake Region Electric Cooperative and Lake Region Fiber were proud to launch the inaugural Lake Region Light Contest, inviting members to show off their Christmas spirit by lighting up their homes and businesses for all to enjoy. From bold, music-filled displays with inflatables to timeless scenes glowing with twinkling lights, our communities truly embraced the joy of the season.
