Lake Region Grant Supports Vision Screening for Ellington Special Education Program
Lake Region Electric Cooperative is proud to support local schools and the students they serve. Recently, Ellington Public School received a $4,000 grant from Lake Region Operation Round-Up to purchase a Spot Vision Screener for its Special Education program. Jennifer Biffle, the school’s speech pathologist, who works closely with students to support their communication, learning, and development, applied for the grant. The new vision screening equipment will help educators quickly and accurately identify potential vision concerns among students. Early detection of vision issues plays a vital role in a child’s educational success. With the Spot Vision Screener, the Special Education team will be able to efficiently screen students and ensure those who may need additional evaluation or support are identified as early as possible. This technology will be a valuable resource for the school, helping staff better meet the individual needs of their students and create stronger opportunities for learning and growth. Lake Region Electric Cooperative is honored to partner with local schools and invest in programs that make a meaningful difference for students and educators in the communities we serve. We extend our congratulations to Jennifer Biffle and our appreciation for her continued dedication to supporting students every day.
